BackifyKit ("BackifyKit," "we," "us," or "our") operates backifykit.com, related product sites, and browser extensions for exporting public social media information (collectively, the "Service"). This policy applies to information we process through the Service.
1. Information we process
Account and subscription information
When you activate paid features, we may process an internal user or installation identifier and subscription details such as product, plan, status, billing interval, renewal or expiration date, payment provider customer identifier, and transaction reference. This lets us verify access and manage your subscription.
Payment information
Payments are processed on checkout pages operated by the payment provider identified at checkout, currently Stripe. The provider processes your name, billing contact information, payment method, billing address, tax information, and transaction details under its own privacy policy. BackifyKit receives transaction and subscription status information but does not receive or store your full card number, card security code, or online-banking credentials.
Public page data and export files
When you run an extension, it reads the content needed from the supported page open in your browser—for example, public profile, follower, following, post, or comment information—and formats the selected results as CSV or XLSX/Excel. This page content is used and stored locally on your device to provide the requested export features. Export files are generated for download to your device. The extension does not transmit the extracted content or export files to BackifyKit or third-party servers. Account and subscription information is processed separately as described above.
BackifyKit does not ask for or store your X or Instagram password. The extension may rely on the session already active in your browser to display pages that you can access, but your platform login credentials are not transmitted to BackifyKit.
Support communications
If you contact us, we process your email address, message, order or subscription details you provide, and any attachments needed to respond. Please do not send passwords, full card numbers, or export files containing information you do not want us to review.
Extension telemetry
Our extensions collect only error logs as telemetry. We use these logs to diagnose failures and maintain extension reliability. Extracted page content and export files are not included in telemetry and remain on your device. Account and subscription processing is described separately above.
Website technical information and browser storage
When you visit our sites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, timestamps, and error or security logs. Product sites and extensions may use essential cookies or local browser storage for sign-in state, preferences, security, and subscription access.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide browser-extension features and generate requested exports;
- activate paid features and maintain subscription status;
- process purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds;
- respond to support, privacy, and billing requests;
- diagnose errors and maintain the security and reliability of the Service;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and
- comply with tax, accounting, legal, and payment-network obligations.
3. Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already occurred.
4. When we share information
The page content and export files processed locally by our extensions are not automatically transmitted by the extension to us or our providers. If you voluntarily send content or export files to support, we and our support providers process that information to address your request. For account, subscription, payment, support, extension diagnostics, and site operations, we may disclose only the information necessary for the purposes below to:
- payment processors, currently Stripe, for checkout, billing, fraud prevention, subscription management, and refunds;
- cloud and database providers, including Firebase/Google Cloud, for account identifiers and subscription-access records;
- hosting, security, and email providers that operate our sites and support communications;
- professional advisers and authorities when necessary to comply with applicable law or protect against malware, spam, phishing, fraud, or abuse; and
- a successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, only after obtaining your explicit prior consent to transfer your user data.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not allow people to read extension user data unless you explicitly consent to access to specific data, access is necessary for security purposes or to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations. Because extracted content and export files remain on your device, we cannot access them through the extension. If you choose to send specific data to support, we use it to address your request.
5. Retention
We keep account and subscription records while your subscription is active and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary for billing, support, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Support messages are kept as needed to resolve and document your request. Extension error logs and website security logs are generally kept for shorter operational periods unless an incident or legal obligation requires longer retention. Extracted page content and export files are stored locally on your device, not on our servers. You can clear locally stored extension data through your browser and delete downloaded export files from your device separately.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS and provider-hosted payment pages. Extracted page content and export files remain on your device; their protection depends on your browser and device security. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting downloaded files and access to your device.
7. International processing
BackifyKit and its providers may process account, subscription, payment, support, extension error logs, and site technical information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. You may also clear extension data through your browser and uninstall an extension at any time.
To make a privacy request, email support@backifykit.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and paid plans are intended only for adults able to enter into a contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Third-party platforms
Supported social platforms and linked websites operate under their own terms and privacy policies. This Privacy Policy does not govern how X, Instagram, Stripe, browser stores, or other third parties process information.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy as our tools or legal requirements change. We will post the new version and update the date above. We will provide additional notice when required by law.
12. Contact
